Test Principle:Beyotime Endonuclease IV is a recombinant endonuclease expressed and purified from E. coli. This enzyme functions in repairing oxidative DNA damage. It specifically recognizes the Apurinic/Apyrimidinic (AP) sites within double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) and cleaves the phosphodiester bond at the 5' end of the AP site, generating a 3' hydroxyl group and a 5'-deoxyribose phosphate (dRP) terminus. Endonuclease IV possesses 3'-diesterase activity which can remove 3'-phosphoglycolate, 3'-α,β-unsaturated aldehyde, phosphoglycoaldehyde, or other 3' blocking groups. It also has a 3'-5' exonuclease activity, with a preference for dsDNA with a 3'-recessed end.
