Test Principle:This product employs the WST-8 compound that can be reduced by dehydrogenases in mitochondria into orange-yellow formazan in the presence of electron-coupled reagents (Figure 1). The more cells, the darker the color; the higher the cytotoxicity, the lighter the color. For the same cells, there is a good linear relationship between color intensity and cell numbers [1]. This kit has been optimized diligently to allow for an efficient and accurate determination of cell viability by measuring the absorbance of formazan at 45nm.
